SGV · Vierwaldstättersee · Luzern — Flüelen
Five historic Belle Époque paddle steamers, crystal-clear Alpine water, and the birthplace of Switzerland — a Lake Lucerne cruise is one of the most iconic journeys in Europe, with steamships on the lake since 1837.
Steamships have sailed on Lake Lucerne since 1837, when the first steamer, the «Stadt Luzern», made its maiden voyage on 24 September. Today the SGV (Schifffahrtsgesellschaft des Vierwaldstättersees) runs 19 ships. With five restored Belle Époque paddle steamers — the oldest launched in 1901 — a cruise on Lake Lucerne is both a transport option and a living museum experience.
From quick day trips to the full lake crossing through William Tell country, SGV offers routes for every type of traveller.
